San Moteur in French means without motor, but the 5-year-old Swedish trotter named San Moteur has a motor with a built-in overdrive!

With trainer Björn Goop in the bike, San Moteur won the prestigious Jubilee Prize at Solvalla Wednesday night (Aug. 17), a race over 1-5/16th miles, in a new world record of 1:52.1f (mile rate), taking two-fifths of a second off the old record held by Readly Express.

The purse for the winner was 1.5 mio. SEK — or $145,000.

San Moteur is sired by Panne de Moteur (a Swedish trotter sired by Credit Winner). Panne de Moteur won the Jubilee Trophy in 2013 and stands now at Menhammar Stud. The dam of San Moteur is Aung San Suu Kyi, sired by Ready Cash.

San Moteur might race in the International Trot in October at Yonkers, but he could also go for the European Championship for 5-year-olds at Vincennes the same week.
