The $15,000 award, sponsored by Scharf in honor of his pacing gelding who won more than $4.2 million in his career, retiring as the richest pacer of all time, pushes overall Gallo Blue Chip Scholarship educational benefits over $100,000.
Applications for the 2012 Gallo Blue Chip Scholarship and other 2012 HHYF scholarships are now available on the website of the Harness Horse Youth Foundation.
“This is an incredibly generous way for Martin Scharf to give back to the sport and I am honored and eternally grateful for the opportunity,” said Fahy.
