Scioto guarantees Friday Pick-5 at $40,000

Columbus, OH — Eldorado Scioto Downs will have a $40,000 guaranteed 50-cent Pick-5 for Friday (May 27) in partnership with the USTA Strategic Wagering Program. The Player’s Pick-5 has a $13,028 double carryover and the track’s lowest takeout at 14 percent on new money. The wager starts in race five.

There is also the popular $1 Pick-8, which debuted on opening day and has carried a $25,000 guarantee backed by the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association and Scioto Downs. The wager was hit on day one but when there is no 8/8 winning ticket, there is a 50 percent consolation payout for the best ticket on the money wagered that day. The other 50 percent carries over to the next racing card. The wager, starting in race two, has a $20,615 carryover going into the Friday card.

Free program pages are available on the Scioto Downs website for each live racing day.

The closing leg of both the Pick-5 and the Pick-8 is the $30,000 final of the Falcon Almahurst series for 3-year-old pacing fillies who are eligible to the Buckeye Stallion Series but did not race in the first leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes. The series standings leader and 9-5 morning line favorite is Fantasy Life (Chris Page/Ron Burke). The daughter of Downbytheseaside was second in the first leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series and now has back-to-back wins in this series, the most recent being in 1:53.1.

Post time for each live racing day is 3:15 p.m. and the 2022 season continues each Tuesday through Saturday until Sept. 17. There will be a special Memorial Day card on Monday (May 30).
