‘Send Me to School’ campaign announced

Columbus, OH — Do you know someone who wants to go to summer school? No, we’re not talking about learning a foreign language or creating art projects — we’re talking about learning how to drive a racehorse.

The USTA is conducting its 15th annual Driving School in less than two months — May 29-June 2 — in the Goshen, N.Y., area.

Students who attend Driving School come from all walks of life, and comfort levels with equines, to work with and drive racehorses — an experience they will never forget!

If you’ve given a farm tour or worked your local horsemen’s information booth at the track and met someone who wants to learn more about harness racing, tell them about going to “school.”

“So many horsemen’s groups are working to bring the backside frontside,” said Jessica Schroeder, the USTA’s Outreach Coordinator. “Through all the meet and greets, autograph sessions, paddock tours, open houses and guest speaking opportunities, the industry is reaching out to fans at a whole new level. For anyone we’ve met that is getting to love the sport as a fan, coming to Driving School would be a true immersion and once in a lifetime experience to take them to that next level of participation.”

Each participating organization that sponsors at least one student will receive recognition as a school sponsor in all our promotional material and announcements.
