Tim Tetrick confidently decided to take Shartin N back to last at the start of the race. Driver Yannick Gingras found an opportunity to control the race with Write Me A Song. They set fractions of :27.1 and :55.1, then buzzed the third quarter in 1:22.1, pacing a :27 third quarter.

At the half, Bettor Joy N, Shartin N’s entrymate, pulled first over. Major Occasion A (Andrew McCarthy) followed that cover on the outside. At this point, things looked hopeless for Shartin N who remained last at the three-quarter pole and 6-1/4 lengths from the leader.

However, when Tetrick asked Shartin N to pace, she responded with a furious rush in the deep stretch and won by a neck over Major Occasion A in 1:50. Apple Bottom Jeans (Corey Callahan) was third.

Shartin N (Tintin In America-Bagdarin) is owned by Richard Poillucci, Jo Ann Looney-King and Tim Tetrick LLC. Jim King Jr. is the trainer.

Anytime N wins the Mares Open

In the $27,500 Mares Open, Moments Of Joy blasted to the front at the start of the race and Valuable Art accepted the pocket trip. Moments Of Joy set fractions of :26.2 and :55.3 as driver Victor Kirby wisely slowed the second quarter to a leisurely :29.1.

Anytime N moved to the outside and pressured Moments Of Joy and took the lead, but not the rail, to the three-quarter pole in 1:22.4. Valuable Art came off the rail from third to join the leaders at the top of the lane.

The 2-1 race favorite, Soho Burning Love A, who was off 56 days, sat last at the head of the stretch and was gobbling up ground in the late stages only to come up short of the leader.

Anytime N (Bettor’s Delight-Corbell) won by a head in 1:51 at odds of 4-1. She is owned by Kalman Liebowitz. Dylan Davis trains and Art Stafford Jr. drove.

Soho Burning Love A finished a fast closing second, but was impressive in defeat. She was driven by Tetrick for trainer King. Moments Of Joy, who set all the race fractions, finished third for trainer Bryan Truitt and driver Victor Kirby.
