Silly But Serious wins fifth straight in Meadows feature

Washington, PA — Silly But Serious used an alert start and a well-timed, first-over move to extend her winning streak to five in Wednesday’s (May 31) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,500 Filly & Mare Claiming Handicap Pace.

Silly But Serious dropped in fourth from post seven for Dave Palone but was out near the half to challenge the leader, Twin B Hello. The six-year-old daughter of Captaintreacherous-I Need Hotstuff, grabbed the point in a heartbeat and drew off to triumph by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:52.4. One Eyed Wanda and Colorful Sky completed the ticket.

Mike Palone trains Silly But Serious, who lifted her career bankroll to $149,156, for Mitchell Fini.

Mike Wilder collected four wins and Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. three on the 12-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (June 1) when the 12-race program features a $1,310.33 carryover in the Early Pentafecta (race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
