Sister to dam of Western Graduate has foal

by Jamie Hachey, for Whim Farms

Rothesay, NB — Country Chill p,1:57.1f ($73,101) kept the folks at Whim Farms busy on April Fool’s Day.

After several false alarms, John Clarey and Jamie Hachey are delighted to report their mare finally delivered her first foal, a beautiful colt by Full Scholarship, at 11:30 p.m.

Country Chill is a half-sister to Countryview Miss, the dam of 2007 Jugette winner Western Graduate p,4,1:51.1 ($665,347), who sold last fall in Harrisburg for $250,000.

Country Chill’s first foal will be sold at auction in 2009 and the mare will be bred to an Ontario eligible sire in 2008.

This is the second birth of the many slated to occur this year at Whim Farms.
