Southwind Frank will stand at Winbak Farm of Delaware in 2023

Chesapeake City, MD — Winbak Farm of Delaware is proud to announce that Southwind Frank 2,1:52.2; 3,1:52.1 ($1,950,887), will be joining the 2023 stallion lineup.

Southwind Frank is an accomplished son of Muscle Hill who is already a proven sire of stakes winners,” said Jack Burke, Winbak Farm General Manager. “We are thrilled to stand this world champion at our farm in the great state of Delaware.”

Southwind Frank was the 2015 O’Brien and USHWA 2-year-old Colt Trotter of the Year award winner.

At 2, Southwind Frank won 11 of 12 starts. He won the Breeders Crown elimination and final, Champlain Stakes division, International Stallion Stakes division, New Jersey Sire Stakes division and final, Peter Haughton elimination and final, Reynolds Memorial division, and William Wellwood Memorial elimination and final.

Southwind Frank set the world record of 1:52.2 at The Red Mile winning the International Stallion Stakes,” said Joe Thomson, Winbak Farm owner. “He was a very impressive 2-year-old who had 10 consecutive wins.”

At 3, he won the Earl Beal Jr. Memorial final, New Jersey Sire Stakes division and final, Reynolds Memorial, Stanley Dancer Memorial and The Colonial final at Pocono. He was second in the Breeders Crown final, Canadian Trotting Classic elimination, Earl Beal Jr. Memorial elimination, Kentucky Futurity, and Hambletonian elimination and final.

He was in the top three for 24 of his 26 lifetime starts.

Southwind Frank is the sire of 2022 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes final winner Bond 2,1:52.3-’22 ($587,264) and 2022 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes leg winner Eternal Lee 3,1:51-’22 ($352,638).

He has sired 13 winners of $100,000-plus.
