SUNY Morrisville yearling sale to be held Sept. 20

Morrisville, NY — SUNY Morrisville is pleased to announce their annual yearling sale will be held on Sunday (Sept. 20). This marks the 29th year for the annual sale. The Sunday venue follows the New York Excelsior finals held Saturday (Sept. 19) at Tioga Downs.

The New York breeding and racing program has been a strong economic supporter of the Morrisville Equine Program for many years. The SUNY Morrisville students greatly appreciate hosting the sale and making industry contacts with the consignors. These industry connections often lead to internships and further employment for our students.

SUNY Morrisville is the only educational institution in New York and in the country that conducts a Standardbred yearling sale. The annual sale is centrally located in New York State and close to Ontario and Quebec.

In the 2019 Morrisville Sale, a total of 51 yearlings sold for an average price of $15,959 (highest in New York State), with a very impressive attendance, having a wide range of buyers filling all the seats until the last yearling went through the ring. The sale again showed an increase in average by 18.4 percent from the previous year.

Entries are now being accepted for the Sept. 20 sale. Entry forms are available to download; fill in your entry online, or call Mary Taylor at 315.684.6355. Please visit http://morrisvillesale.com.
