East Rutherford, NJ — For the second consecutive week in the GSY Series, a short field of seven went to post under perfect conditions and mid-70 degrees temperatures.

Tech Titan was a 1:55.1 winner for Sarah Svanstedt.
After Jennifer Lappe and Multitaskr Hanover took the lead at the quarter pole in :27.2, she was challenged before the half by Fiji, with David Offenberg in the bike. They went a torrid :55.1 to the half (:27.4 quarter) and this took its toll on the dueling leaders.
Since it was a small field, Sarah Svanstedt took her time with the favorite, Tech Titan, by getting away sixth, but was out with cover before the half and made a bold three-wide move to the front just after the three-quarter marker.
From the half-mile until the top of the stretch, there were four horses outside and only three inside because of the fast pace up front. Svanstedt came home a 3-1/2 length winner and was timed in 1:55.1. Holding onto a game second place finish was Fiji and coming from the back of the pack was Tony Beltrami, aboard Hes A Castoff, to garner the show dough.
Tech Titan is a 5-year-old gelding by Muscle Hill and is owned by Knutsson Trotting Inc. and is trained by Sarah’s husband, Ake Svanstedt.
Next week the GSY Series goes on a week hiatus to make room for the traveling road show, the C.K.G. Billings Amateur Series. The final of the GSY Hot To Trot will take place on June 29.
