A Swedish handicapper, the only one to pick seven winners, netted $8 million in the popular V75 bet at the Aby Racetrack in Gothenburg Saturday afternoon
Fifteen tickets were still alive after the 6th leg, but only one had the winner, Admiral Sea driven by Johnny Takter, a rank outsider at 22-1, who was in command from the start.
The winning ticket contained 800 combinations at a cost of $60.
The win is the second biggest win ever in the V75-bet. The record is $9.6 million, won in February 2010 at the Axevalla track.
Ron Pierce was in Sweden over the weekend together with his Swedish-born wife, Therese.
Friday night the couple attended the Swedish Horse of The Year Gala, where the German-bred trotter Brioni was named Trotter of the Year.
Saturday, Pierce drove three times at Aby , but finished unplaced in every race.
