Ten of 403 reasons to give to SRF on #GivingTuesday

Cream Ridge, NJ — Standardbred Retirement Foundation offers 10 of the 403 reasons to give back to the horses on this #GivingTuesday, and every day. Donations are needed to meet our goal of $12,000 to feed our horses through the holiday season.

1. Because tomorrow morning and the days that follow, SRF must find a way to fill the grain buckets for each of the 403 trotters and pacers.

2. A total of 95 percent of SRF’s help comes from private donations.

3. On #Giving Tuesday, the cost to feed all for just that one day is more than $3,000.

4. A total of 84 cents of every dollar is spent on the care of the horses.

5. SRF is different than every other organization as it never relinquishes ownership so every horse remains safe in the event an adopter falls on hard times, or has a lifestyle change, and requires semi-annual veterinary follow up. SRF does not limit help to only adoptable or sound horses, or those under the age of 13.

6. SRF exclusively helps Standardbreds.

7. Breeding horses to race peaked 15-25 years ago and those still gracing the earth are most likely destined for kill pens, or are with SRF and need help.

8. Because even when an injured or sick horse is in need of peace, humanely, the cost is great ($500).

9. Because SRF is a 501(c)3 non-profit, gifts are tax-deductible.

10. Because SRF’s endowment generates less than $300 annually and needs a way to secure a future, even though it will in the next few months mark 30 years of care for these noble animals.

Your generous tax-deductible gift, sponsorship of a horse, home to one or as a foster will change a life. Help us turn #GivingTuesday into #GivenCompassion.

Gifts may be made through SRF’s website at www.AdoptaHorse.org or directly by contacting Tammy at 609.738.3255. For questions by email please contact SRFhorsesandkids@gmail.com.
