Tetrick pilots seven winners at Dover Downs

DOVER, DE – Pure Class and Tycoon Bill A won the feature races on a Claiming-filled Thursday, Feb. 15 card at Dover Downs.

Tim Tetrick continued his multiple win days driving seven winners and 26 wins this week. He won five on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Four on Wednesday and seven on the Thursday card. Previously this meet, Tetrick has had days of eight and seven winners.

Roger Plante drove Marilyn Milbrand’s Pure Class to a front-stepping 1:54.1 victory in the $30,000 claiming pace feature. The five-year-old Stand Forever gelding held off a late charge from GE’s Jackson (Corey Callahan) with Marcus Mainbrace A (Tony Morgan) the third finisher.

Tim Tetrick moved Bill Emmons’ Tycoon Bill N to the front early on the way to a 1:53 decision in the first of two $25,000 Claiming Allowance paces. Racsan Nuke (Tony Morgan) closed well but could not encroach on the leader at the wire. Fittin Good (Brad Hanners) was the show horse.

In the second division, Tony Morgan won his second race of the day guiding Supreme Dan to a 1:52.1 win for owners Eric and Arty Foster. Iwannabesedated (Tim Tetrick) stormed down the lane to finish second beaten by a neck. Casablanca Hall (Roger Plante) was third.

Jack Parker Jr. steered I Dood It to his third consecutive victory taking a $10,500 3-4-&5-Year-Old pace in 1:56. The Panderosa sophomore held off Icouldonlyimagine (Ross Wolfenden) by a nose at the wire. Pathfinder (George Dennis) was the third place finisher.

In the first $20,000 Delaware Male Claiming pace, Art Brewer’s Vested Hanover had just enough to post a 1:54.1 victory, his third in his last four starts, with Brad Hanners at the controls. Quality Import (Tony Morgan) was second in front of Yankee Symbol (Jim King).

Bob Rementer’s Equinox Hanover, with Tim Tetrick driving, won the other $20,000 Delaware male claimer in 1:54.3. Yankee Apollo (Bret Brittingham) was runner-up. Joey Bravo (Tony Morgan) took third.

Saturday card features Delaware events

Following the weekly Friday break, Dover Downs’ Saturday card features a $13,800 Delaware pace, a $10,200 Delaware trot and a $20,000 Claiming pace. First post is 5:30 p.m.

John Frazer’s Starcroft Bad Boy, with Bret Brittingham in the bike, a winner last time out lead eight in the $13,800 Delaware pace for 3-4-&-5-Year-Olds.

The list of contenders is led by Fred and Anita Fialkow’s B Dees Artist with the sport’s leading driver Tim Tetrick, GE’s Gilmour, Roger Plante driving for Bernard and Gary Ewing, and Lauren Allen and Foulk Stable’s Boo Bugg and Brad Hanners. Jeff Beauchamp’s JEB’s Champion leaves from the rail with Brandon Givens, while Andrew Stafford’s Balin Hanover, handled by Eddie Davis Jr. and Elmer’s Bad Dude with Ross Wolfenden complete the lineup.

In the $10,200 feature trot, Nick Callahan’s Tiger Windswept (Corey Callahan) a 13-1 longshot winner last time returns to take on Kathleen Hayes Mack Incredible (Mike Cole), Eileen Lineweaver’s Hi Roller K (Tim Tetrick) and Ask W Stables, Tina and driver George Dennis’ Mark, all three finished second in their previous starts.

Down Trader’s Cheyemily (Ross Wolfenden) has been third in his last two outings. Kelly Dixon’s Camp Commando (Brad Hanners) also was third last time. Cliff Green’s Hopedale Jive (Tony Morgan), and Herman and Lynn Drenth’s Wishwell Sugarbaby (Roger Plante) have upset credentials.

There are two $20,000 Male Claiming paces. In the first section, the Fialkow’s Sea Man (Brad Hanners) drops down a notch, as do Pat Tortorello’s Kovacev (Roger Plante) and Gary Ewing’s Bionicle N (Tony Morgan). Hezapeach (Ross Wolfenden) makes his first start for Rodney Long, Howard Bowen and Tim Huntertpfund, after being claimed out of his previous start. Norman Bell and Joe Mansfield’s Inner Success N (Eddie Davis Jr.) drew the rail with Armbro Beethoven (Corey Callahan) alongside.

Rodney Long and Tim Hundertpfund’s Golfman (Ross Wolfenden) and Rare Return N (Tony Morgan), both won their last start while Bill Emmons’ Sporty Nate (Tim Tetrick) finished second missing by a neck last time in the second $20,000 Claimer.
