Tim Hall, 67, dies

Lexington, KY — Timothy “Tim” Hall, 67, of Flint Township, Mich., died June 4, 2021.

A longtime breeder and owner of Standardbreds, Mr. Hall owned many Michigan champions, including the standout female trotter Benn’s Riverdance, a two-time Michigan Sires Stakes champion who won 37 of 62 career starts and $455,145.

Benn’s Riverdance, who he owned in partnership with Michigan Hall of Fame horseman Brad Kramer, went on to produce three $300,000-plus winners, including Blazin Benny ($333,595), Dancehall Mistress ($445,020) and Stormy Kromer ($543,874).

Included among the other horses Mr. Hall shared in partnership with Kramer were Michigan champions Baja Bobby and TNT Raider.

“Tim was a friend to everybody,” remembered Kramer. “If his horse didn’t win the race he was the first to congratulate the other owners. He just loved the game.”

Mr. Hall was born on Jan. 20, 1954, in Mt. Clemens, Mich., the son of Gilbert and Kathleen Hall. He was a 1973 graduate of Powers Catholic School, later attending Lake Superior State University. He owned Genesee Valley Aviation for 30 years, later becoming a partner with Flint Air Service, and was employed as a police officer at Bishop Airport in Flint. He was also especially fond of his 2003 Corvette.

Mr. Hall enjoyed fishing, golfing, casino trips and especially bowling, where he had a perfect 300 game to his credit.
