Tom Kelly to appear at Running Aces opener

from Running Aces Harness Park

Columbus, MN — Exciting news about the grand opening of Running Aces Harness Park, approximately 20 miles north of Minneapolis and St. Paul, will be shared with Sirius Satellite listeners this Saturday morning, April 5, at approximately 10:15 a.m. (EST).

Bill Finley will conduct the live interview with Director of Racing Gregg Keidel on Sirius racing channel 127. Less than one hour after the interview, Running Aces will present its second set of qualifying races as the final “dress rehearsal” for the much-anticipated opening night on Friday, April 11.

Among the items that Keidel will disclose to the radio listeners is that Tom Kelly, the beloved ex-manager of the Minnesota Twins baseball team, will make Running Ace’s first winner’s circle presentation to the connections of the winner of the inaugural pace.

Kelly, who lives about 23 miles from Running Aces, owns about a dozen harness horses including some recent winners on the East Coast. During his managerial days, he often visited harness tracks throughout North America when his Twins were visiting and had a night off before, during or after a series.
