Tonianne rallies off of layoff to take Meadows feature

Washington, PA –  Trailing by 5-1/2 lengths at the three-quarters, Tonianne unleashed a powerful stretch kick that carried her to victory in Wednesday’s co-feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $10,300 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.

Tonianne hadn’t raced since Oct. 8 and appeared to be enjoying a conservative trip in her return. But when Hunter Myers asked her for pace, the 4-year-old daughter of Somebeachsomewhere-Table Talk looped the field and triumphed in 1:53.3. Early leader Dream Dancing was second, 3/4 lengths back, with Bettor Lady third.

Myers completed a sweep of Wednesday’s co-features when he scored with Game Of Shadows, who scorched a $10,300 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace in a front-end, career-fastest 1:51.4. Paul Corey conditions the 4-year-old daughter of Shadow Play-Cheyenne Ava, who notched her second straight win and lifted her lifetime bankroll to $142,154, for Kenneth Ashba.

Brady Brown joined Myers with a double on the ten race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (Jan. 13) when the ten race program features a $3,157.19 carryover in the Jackpot Pick-5 (race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
