Torrin Hanover earns decisive win in Meadows $16K pace

Washington, PA – Refreshed by a :29.3 second-quarter breather, Torrin Hanover notched a convincing victory in Friday’s (Nov. 19) $16,000 Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Torrin Hanover was looped from the gate but persevered on the outside, crossing over near the quarter. Once Hunter Myers gave him that relaxing second panel, the 6-year-old Well Said-Transference gelding easily held off the late challenge of Puzzling and downed him by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:51.1. Missile J completed the ticket.

Paul Corey trains Torrin Hanover, who now boasts a career bankroll of $315,709, for Kenneth Ashba.

Dave Palone piloted four winners, including a pair for trainer Justin Pirillo, on the 11-race card.
