East Rutherford, NJ — Friday night’s (Feb. 9) live race card at The Meadowlands features 13 races and kicks off the big Valentine’s Day weekend buffet in Pink.
On the track, the seventh race pits 10 veteran trotters competing in a $14,000 conditioned race led by morning line choice Another Chapter. This now 4-year-old was in career best form in his last few outings until going off-stride as the favorite last week. He’ll look to make amends from post six for trainer Jim Campbell and owner Runthetable Stable. Brett Miller drives.
Chief among the competition are Bee In Charge (Andy Miller) who has the inside post advantage on his main rivals along with Scirocco Jakob (Marcus Miiler) and Waiting On A Woman (Eric Carlson). All three are getting class relief this week.
All of the guaranteed wagers are activated for Friday and the last race Jackpot Super Hi-5 carryover pool is flirting with the six figure mark.
Free program pages and Race Reviews are available on the Meadowlands website.
Post time is 6:35 p.m.
- Marohn looks to build off successful 2017 season (Thursday, February 08, 2018)
When Jim Marohn Jr. was a teenager, he worked on the backstretch at the Meadowlands and got to observe some of the sport’s top stables in action. These days, the 35-year-old Marohn is still working at the Big M, but is part of the action as one of the racetrack’s top drivers. No one won more races at the Meadowlands in 2017 than Marohn, who had 109.
