Truth In Action wins RUS event at Ocean Downs

Pompano Beach, FL — The 8-year-old trotting gelding Truth In Action (Cantab Hall-Cressida Hanover), owned, trained and ridden by Karen Isbell, scored a decisive victory in Sunday night’s $6,000 Racing Under Saddle test at Ocean Downs, his second under-saddle win in as many starts.

The event took place after the fourth race on the regular card and was sponsored by friends of the Maryland Standardbreds and the Maryland Horse Industry Board. Truth In Action was a winner in 2:04.4h, defeating CJ’s Crown and Caroline Green by six lengths with Flowing James home third with Tara Hynes aboard.

Truth In Action is from the Mr Lavec mare Cressida Hanover, she the dam of three $100,000-plus winners from nine foals, six of those with records of 1:57.4 or better including Hambletonian winner Glidemaster 3,1:51.1 ($1,968,023), Truth In Action 1:54.4f ($320,810 Including RUS), Global Desire 2,1:57.1 ($131,287) and the excellent 2014 2-year-old Canepa Hanover 2,Q1:56.1 ($25,000).

Radical Dreamer is a nose winner at Clinton

Sarah Town teamed Radical Dreamer (Majestic Sun-Paidindreams) to a nose victory in Sunday’s kick-off of pari-mutuel wagering on RUS contests in Ontario. Ron O’Neil trains the winner that he co-owns with breeder/owner Doug Millard. The winning team, favored by the wagering public at odds of 3-2, defeated Dayplanner (Oaklea Juilian-Our Day) handled by Marit Valdtadt, that one off at 2-1.

Radical Dreamer 3,1:58.4f ($89,791) is the fourth foal of Paidindreams 5,1:57s ($188,980), she by Royal Strength-Call Me Paid and also the dam of Magical Wand (by Kadabra) 3,Q1:58s ($104,948).

The RUS event took wagers on win-place-show and exactor. All other races this day also took triactor wagers. Handle on the RUS race exceeded all other races on a comparable basis (excluding triactor handle).
