Uptown Callie rallies from worst to first in Meadows feature

Washington, PA — Uptown Callie rallied from worst to first through the stretch and pulled off an 8-1 upset in Tuesday’s (Dec. 20) featured distaff claiming pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Uptown Callie trailed by 4-1/2 lengths heading into the final turn when Brady Brown showed her racetrack. The 5-year-old daughter of Betterthancheddar-Mid Town caught VH Princess Brea in deep stretch and downed her by a neck in 1:54, with Priceless Shadow a closing third.

Tyler Stillings trains Uptown Callie, who lifted her lifetime earnings to $136,186, for Rags To Riches Of PA LLC.

Jack Killeen, Hunter Myers, Dave Palone and trainer Dirk Simpson each collected three wins on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday (Dec. 21), when the 13-race program features a pair of carryovers: $5,564.73 in the Jackpot Pick-5 (races 4-8) and $542.25 in the final-race Jackpot Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
