Lexington, KY — The annual meeting for USTA District 6 was held on Saturday (Oct. 7) at Red Mile racetrack in Lexington, Ky. District Chairman, Alan Leavitt directed the proceedings, and was joined by fellow directors Frank Antonacci, Joe Frasure (via phone), Jerry Haws and Joe Pennacchio, as well as USTA Registrar T.C. Lane.
The directors and members discussed the various proposed rule changes and various updates on the USTA were given. District 6 consists of members representing the following states: Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia.

It was also announced that amateur driver Dein Spriggs would replace incumbent Alan Leavitt as a Membership director.
Spriggs is the president of the Florida Amateur Driving Club, which has donated some $185,000 to various charitable causes since the club’s inception.
Formerly a regular participant in the C.K.G. Billings Amateur Driving Series, Spriggs was named National Amateur Driver of the Year twice; first in 2004 and then again in 2005.
In recent seasons he hasn’t driven as much in the Billings Series, although he has been productive in the Florida Amateur Driving Club’s races as well as competing against European counterparts in various international amateur competitions. Spriggs was the leading driver in the Florida Amateur Driving Club’s series at Pompano Park earlier this year.

Joe Pennachio was elected to serve as the District Chairman. The newly elected director, Spriggs will be seated at the upcoming USTA Full Board of Directors meeting held in March, 2018.
