by Dustin Ross, for Vernon Downs

Vernon, NY — Vernon Downs announced today that it will accept wagers from Canada through Net Pool Pricing beginning with the opening of the meet on Saturday, April 7.

In a letter dated Monday, April 2, the New York State Racing and Wagering Board gave Vernon Downs permission to export its signal for the purpose of common pool wagering utilizing the “net pool pricing calculation method.”

“We welcome our friends from Canada to watch and wager on the races from Vernon Downs all season long,” said Jason Settlemoir, VP of Racing and Simulcast for Vernon and Tioga Downs. “Please make your tote companies aware of this change to Net Pool Pricing so there will be no snags come opening night. We want things to move as efficient and as smoothly as possible. This marks a new era in Vernon Downs history that will bring bigger pool sizes to the customers wagering on the Vernon Downs product.”

Vernon Downs begins live racing action this Saturday with a post time of 6:45 p.m. (EDT).
