Columbus, OH — William Gregg, 54, a longtime Standardbred owner, died Jan. 24, 2012.
Mr. Gregg was a 1980 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. Upon graduation he worked as district engineer for Halliburton Services for seven years. In 1987 he started Interstate Gas and was owner, vice-president and managing partner. He was also the owner and president of Northeast Energy since 1989, which currently has more than 150 employees.
Mr. Gregg was a member of the USTA since 1995 and was one of the owners of Lucky Jim, the 2009 Dan Patch Award winner as the sport’s best older male trotter.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Patrick; and daughter, Amanda.
