Yonkers, NY — Buoyed by a carryover of $4,529.90 and Monday night’s usual $10,000 guaranteed pool, Yonkers Raceway’s Pick-5 had more interest than usual.
A total of $15,995.04 was bet into the gimmick, creating a total pool (after takeout) of $16,536.15. The winning combination of 2-5-1-3-5 returned $972 for every correct 50 cent wager.
The Pick-5 is a 50 cent base wager offered each racing program (races seven through 11). It has no consolation payoff, so if no one selects all five winners (as was the case Saturday), the entire pool (minus takeout) moves to the next program ($10,000 guaranteed pool every Monday).
The Raceway’s live season continues with a French-centric Tuesday (first post 1 p.m.), then Thursday through Saturday (all at 7:10 p.m., with fourth rounds of Matchmaker and Levy series Friday and Saturday). Evening simulcasting accompanies all nighttime programs, with afternoon simulcasting available daily.
