Yonkers, NY — When Yonkers Raceway returns for 2012, flat-mile racing does, too.
The Raceway has announced that all races — overnights, series and stakes — shall be contest at the traditional one-mile distance. Yonkers had offered mile and one-sixteenth overnight events exclusively since last February.
Any distance exceptions would be indicated on the weekly condition sheet.
Speaking of said sheet, a friendly reminder that the sheet for the first two racing dates of 2012 (Friday-Saturday, Jan. 13-14) is now available online (www.yonkersraceway.com, then go to “racing” icon). The condition sheet for the first full week of racing (beginning Monday, Jan. 16) is to be available shortly.
Also available right now are nomination blanks for Yonkers’ early ’12 series, the Petticoat and Sagamore Hill Pacing Series (both close Wednesday, Feb. 1), as well as the Blue Chip Matchmaker and George Morton Levy Memorial Pacing Series (both close Thursday, March 1).
Please note that nomination blanks for these series shall also begin appearing in various harness publications and their online counterparts, as well as the nightly racing program once the season gets underway.
