Betting Line heavy favorite in Jug Future Pool

by Jay Wolf, publicity director, the Little Brown Jug

Delaware, OH — If bettors like the “hot” horse, it is no wonder that the punters have made Betting Line the 3-5 choice in the Little Brown Jug Future Pool No. 1. The son of Bettor’s Delight has won 11 straight races including his last start on Saturday in the $157,111 Simcoe Stake at Mohawk from post nine.

He has also won the $780,000 North America Cup, the $500,000 Battle of the Brandywine and the $300,000 Carl Milstein Memorial during his win streak.

Betting Line is owned by trainer Casie Coleman’s West Win Stable, Christine Calhoun and Mac T. Nichol.

Should Betting Line win the Little Brown Jug presented by the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association on Sept. 22, his backers will receive $1.60 on their $1 bet.

Racing Hill is the second choice at 6-1 and Check Six and Manhattan Beach are third at odds of 9-1.

Racing Hill has won $500,000 Messenger Stake and the $400,000 Adios Pace. He has been a model of consistency this season with all 11 starts resulting in on the board finishes and $1.2 million in seasonal earnings. Tony Alagna trains the son of Roll With Joe for Tom Hill.

Check Six recently won the $252,000 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes final in a lifetime best 1:50. The Ron Burke trainee has seven wins on the season for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, William Switala and James Martin.

The second future pool will be from 12 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 18) through 11:30 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 21), the first three afternoons of Grand Circuit racing at the Delaware County Fair.
