Pompano Beach, Florida – February 9, 2004 – Electric’s A Flyin ($10.40, $5.00, $540) brought an end to ICU Jessie’s ($2.60, $3.20) two-race winning streak with a half-length victory in the $60,000 third round of the Artsplace Pacing Series at Pompano Park Harness Track Monday. War Room ($6.80) was third.

ELECTRIC’S A FLYIN (#6) holds off ICU Jessie (#9) with War Room (#4) just getting in the photo after a dramatic stretch drive in the 3rd leg of the Artsplace Pacing Series. Electric’s A Flyin won by a neck in 1:52.4.

Owned by Ed Hauck, Jr. of Pompano Beach and trained by Brian Hauck, it was the third win in the last four starts for Electric’s A Flyin, whose only loss this year was last week to ICU Jessie in the Artsplace Series. Electric’s A Flyin covered the mile race in 1:52.4. The $20,000 added final for the Artsplace Series takes place next Monday, February 16.

The 5th race $6,500 feature started off with driver Richard Macomber, Jr. sending Electric’s A Flyin right to the front from post six with War Room (George Napolitano, Jr.) grabbing the two-hole spot and ICU Jessie (Kevin Wallis) leaving from post nine and settling in third place at the opening quarter mile in :27.

They raced Indian-style to the half in :56 and then in the backstretch, Wallis made his move with ICU Jessie and came up alongside Electric’s A Flyin by the three-quarters in 1:24.3. Then down the stretch the two horses nearly raced as a tandem but Electric’s A Flyin would not be denied as he held on to win by a neck.

A four-year-old gelding by Electric Yankee, Electric’s A Flyin will once again renew his rivalry next Monday with ICU Jessie in the Artsplace Final.

The post position draw for the Mack Lobell Trotting Series is Tuesday and it is hopeful that there will be three divisions for the opening round.
