Trainer/driver Mike Allen is showing signs of improvement after a motorcycle accident two weeks ago in his home of Ocala, Florida.

Allen, who had major head injuries in the accident, is now off a ventilator and breathing with oxygen assistance, according to his wife Patti. He recognizes families and friends by sight and sound and has some movement and is attempting to do more. He is not yet talking and is expected to be moved to a less intensive care unit in a Gainesville hospital by the end of the week.
