My Best Bet, Cougar Hall, which was 8-1 on the morning line, won with a big effort from off the pace but I only had two of four in the Pick-4, minus $12. I now have a profit for the championship meet but this year I’ve kept records from Jan. 1. 2019 record, 60 Pick-4s, five winners at $234.50, $369.60, $107.50 and $27.50, minus $332.40.

$1 play: 167/13/4/4 = $6
$1 play: 167/1/46/4 = $6

Analysis:

Race 13: This is similar to Meadowlands Pace Day, where the early Pick-4 seemed to have a better chance of paying a bigger price. But my assignment is to create a ticket for the late Pick-4s, so here goes. This is a very good race, I’m using three top quality mares, (1) Manchego, (6) Hannelore Hanover, and (7) Darling Mearas S.

Race 14: (1) Shartin N has been almost unbeatable the past two years but (3) Caviart Alley is classy and also in rare form.

Race 15: (4) Bettor’s Wish and (6) Captain Crunch are the two most obvious. On one ticket, I singled Bettor’s Wish, who is due for some racing luck.

Race 16: (4) Can’t Beach That was a sharp winner in last and gets a free ride here.
