Pandy’s Picks: July 13 M

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on July 13, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 10-13, Saturday, July 13, 2019

I hit the Pick-4 for $1 for the second night in the row. It returned $234.50 for a ticket wager that totaled $40.50. Basically I played two 50-cent tickets. I hit the Pick-4 for $1 last Saturday night; it returned $369.60 on the $25 total wager. I now have a profit for the championship meet, but this year I’ve kept records from Jan. 1. 2019 record, 54 Pick-4s, four winners at $234.50, $369.60, $107.50 and $27.50, minus $279.40.

Tonight’s tickets:

50-cent play: 2/1346/28/2348 = $16
$1 play: 2/3/28/2348 = $8

Analysis:

Race 10: (2) Warrawee Ubeaut had a very strong 2-year-old season and she’s come back sharp this year with four wins in six starts. She lost at 3-5 odds in the Lynch at Pocono two weeks ago but the track was wet and it was favoring horses on the inside, and she raced very well. I’ll try a single.

Race 11: (3) Millies Possesion stepped up with her best race yet last week and is now undefeated in six career starts. I singled her on one ticket but on the other I used all four of my listed contenders, two of which, (1) Sister’s Promise (shuffled with pace) and (4) Asiago (in tight quarters late) were on my list of horses to watch that appear in DRF Harness.

Race 12: I thought about using all four of my listed contenders here but I decided to use the two most obvious, (2) Stag Party and (8) Sweet Rock. They both have class.

Race 13: This is the toughest race of the sequence. I’m using all four of my listed contenders, 2, 3, 4, 8.
