USTA issues rulings in Ledford case

Harness Racing Communications, a division of the USTA

In keeping with the suspensions and fines announced by the New Jersey Racing Commission on April 12, the USTA has issued a ruling revoking the membership of Eric Ledford, Seldon Ledford and Ryan Dailey, under the provisions of USTA Rule 22, Sections 13 and 14, that provides for reciprocal action.
In addition, the USTA has issued rulings determining that Ardena Dailey and Dr. John Witmer, who were also given lengthy suspensions and fines in the New Jersey Commission rulings announced yesterday, are deemed ineligible for USTA membership.
Penalties imposed through the rules and regulations of state racing commissions and those in foreign countries are given full faith and credit and strictly enforced by the USTA.
The USTA Executive Committee, which is slated to meet on May 20, will review the Ledford case as part of their ongoing efforts to support and enhance the efforts of local regulatory bodies.
