Member Services Outreach Specialist

Position Summary:
This is a full-time exempt position that will require an onsite presence in Westerville, OH. The Member Services Outreach Specialist position will work with both our Outreach and Member Services Departments by representing the United States Trotting Association (USTA) at horse sales and other equine events. The Member Services Outreach Specialist will also assist in promoting the Standardbred breed through advertising and promotional efforts in addition to other initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Represents the Association at various horse sales by executing USTA Member Services duties including membership renewals, foal registrations, Hoof Beats subscriptions, ownership transfers, and member education relative to USTA portals.
• Assists in promotion of off-the-track Standardbreds, including advertising and promotional efforts, approving shows and researching placings in the Standardbred Incentive Program, breed award programs with various discipline groups, coordinating website updates and attending horse fairs.
• Assists with the production of the Stakes Guide, both in print and online, along with updating Feature Races and linking races for pedigrees.
• Ability to support the Member Services Department during peak periods by addressing phone inquiries and processing paperwork.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities
• Must be able to communicate with confidence, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to multi-task with expert organizational skills.
• Carries out duties with minimal supervision but can also effectively collaborate as a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products specifically InDesign and Photoshop.

Education and Work Experience
• Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business or related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
• Harness racing and/or equine experience preferred

Other Requirements
• Ability to travel approximately 35 days per year with a larger concentration of travel in the fall.
• After-hours and weekend work may be required for special projects and events.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000 – $50,000 per year

• 8-hour shift
