Crete, ILL — Balmoral Park’s 2004 stakes schedule will kick off on Tuesday night when a field of seven 3-year-old pacing fillies squares off in the Panic Attack Stakes. Carded as the second race on the 11 race program, this test will carry a purse of $12,000.

Constant Sorrow is the morning line favorite for the Panic Attack Stakes

Patrick O’Brien’s Constant Sorrow has been installed as the 5-2 favorite after getting off to a strong start in her 2004 campaign. The daughter of Warrior For Peace captured the Pacific Series Final at Balmoral on February 17 and won in a career best of 1:56. The Eric Plowman-trained miss has two wins, two seconds, and one third in seven starts this year and has earned just over $13,000.

James Rowney’s Nightwatch Vixen finished as the bridesmaid in the Pacific Final and she’ll be looking to turn the tables on her main rival here. The speedy daughter of Silky Stallone is also off to a fast start in 2004, having hit the board in six of her first seven starts and earned over $11,000.

Another who merits strong consideration in this test is John Leahy, Anderson Racing, Inc., and Tom Lewandowski’s Canine Candy. This promising daughter of The Big Dog has struggled in her sophomore year after she posted a record of 3-4-1 in eight freshman starts. The Joe Anderson trainee has been battling some tough company, though, and she could get things turned around in a hurry on Tuesday evening.

Rounding-out the field for the Panic Attack Stake will be Torpedo Wave, Windy City Anita, Queen Johnnie K, and Thermopylae.
