Pompano Beach, FL — Goldstar Rosie has been tabbed as the 7-5 morning line favorite on Friday (July 11) in the $21,300 final of the Orange Blossom Pacing Series for Florida-bred 2-year-old fillies at Pompano Park.

Goldstar Rosie and driver Dan Clements head the $21,300 final of the Orange Blossom Pacing Series.

This is the richest final in the 16-year history of the event. Last year’s winner, Alice Springs, swept the series, spring-boarding her to an 11-0 undefeated championship season.

Goldstar Rosie starts from post seven in the first race feature and will be driven by Dan Clements. Bred, trained and co-owned by Tom Audley with Jamie Marra and Bethany Anne Levine, Goldstar Rosie is a bay filly by Rock On from the Tough Sir mare Eileen Filly.

In her last start in the series, Clements sent Goldstar Rosie down the road, leading from start to finish to win by 1-3/4 lengths in 2:00.1, the last quarter in an impressive clocking of :28.2.

Second choice in the race is the filly G, who starts from post two for driver Stephen Oliwa at odds of 3-1. G was second to Goldstar Rosie in the opening round of the Orange Blossom Series and the week prior was a neck winner in 2:02.1. Third choice in the race is Callies Sweetheart from the rail for breeder/owner/trainer/driver Melvyn Aylor.
