Monticello, NY — The second of Monticello Raceway’s Magnificent Seven world class stakes races, the inaugural $260,000 Lady Catskill Pace, will go to post on Wednesday, July 4. Elimination races, if needed, are slated for Wednesday, June 27.

“Should sufficient entries be received, $20,000 eliminations races will be contested on Wednesday, June 27,” said Eric Warner, Monticello Raceway’s Director of Racing. “I want everyone to know that we draw for the Lady Catskill Pace on Friday, June 22. The box closes at 9:00 a.m. However, if elimination races are not necessary, those who enter will go directly to the final on Wednesday, July 4.”

In all, 64 world class fillies have sustained payments including Southwind Tempo, who set a world record when the daughter of Bettor’s Delight toured the five-eighths-mile oval at Pocono Downs in a sizzling 1:49.3 on June 16.

Southwind Tempo, who has already amassed nearly $345,000 in earnings this season, is owned by Alton Lynch and former New York Jets wide receiver and avid harness racing fan Wayne Chrebet.

Among the other great fillies eligible include Only Money, Inc. and Teague Incorporated’s 2-year-old filly Pacer of the Year last season, Isabella Blue Chip; Karen Carroll and Natalie Pentland’s Luck Of Michelle, a recent 1:54 winner at Flamboro Downs; and Larry Roman’s Paula’s Best, a 1:51.3 stakes winner at Tioga Downs a few weeks ago, to name a few.

But before the Lady Catskill Pace showcases the best sophomore pacing fillies in North America, Monticello Raceway will present the $338,000 final of the Nevele Pride Stakes on Monday, June 25.
