Schenectady, NY — The New York State Gaming Commission seeks candidates for the position of racing inspector at Buffalo Raceway and/or Batavia Downs.
The position is assigned to the Division of Horse Racing and Pari-Mutuel Wagering and reports to the presiding pudge at Buffalo Raceway and Batavia Downs.
Duties include:
- Observing operations at horse racing tracks to identify administrative and security problems;
- Collecting blood and urine tags and samples;
- Accompanying horses from the track to the test barn for sample collection;
- Ensuring sample containers are identified and sealed against tampering, and delivering samples for testing;
- Ensuring horse attendants sign test cards, and maintain daily activity books;
- Testing drivers with breathalyzers;
- Reporting evidence of faulty or inefficient track operations, regulatory violations, and foul play; and
- Testifying at administrative hearings regarding suspensions, revocations, and other violations.
