Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, Jan. 20, 2017

Last Saturday I only had two of four, minus $31.50. So far this meet the favorites are winning at 28 percent. The early Pick-4 has had an average pool size of $63,000 and an average payoff of $2,000. The late Pick-4, which is harder to hit, has had an average pool size of $83,000 and an average payoff of more than $8,000. I’m going to start constructing more expensive tickets. Tonight my ticket costs $40. With the late Pick-4, it’s simply too hard to hit to play small tickets. My meet results so far, 0 for 4, minus $76.50.

Analysis:

Race 7: There isn’t a horse in this race that doesn’t have a chance. I used all of them.

Race 8: (8) Robocall Hanover gets Gingras and looks tough. My Best Bet and a single.

Race 9: (4) Walltocousins comes off a game, tough-trip effort. (8) Its Chocolate Time woke up for Drew Monti in last and seems to fit well here.

Race 10: My top four contenders are 2, 4, 5, 8 and I’m using all four of them in this race.
