Raymer wins three DSBF events Wednesday

Harrington, DE — Trainer Leigh Raymer had four wins and capturedthree of the $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes for 2-year-oldtrotters at Harrington Raceway Wednesday (September 28).

Luv Is Blind was one of four winners on Wednesday night for trainer Leigh Raymer at Harrington Raceway.

Raymer co-owns Luv Is Blind ($2.80, Victor Kirby) who prevailed for the secondstraight week in 2:04.3. The Keystone Activator gelding drew clear of the fieldat the top of the stretch for a decisive score.


A Raymer-trained entry driven by Kirby was again in the winner’s circle againwhen Rodney Mitchell Jr.’s Jiggs ($7, Kirby) notched his first lifetime winwith a 2:05.2 triumph. The Giant Hit gelding atoned for a miscue in hiselimination last week when he went off stride.


Owner Mitchell Jr. and Raymer teamed up for another win with Meantrotnjean($10, Allan Davis) in the final filly division with a 2:06.3 victory. The CrCommando filly notched the first win of her career.


Ben Brooks’ Master Clave ($2.20, Ross Wolfenden) improved to 3-for-3 lifetimewith a 2:01.4 triumph in the first division for colts and geldings. The MasterLavec gelding is trained by John Wilkerson.


Raymer had four wins on the program, three were driven by Kirby.


In the overnight feature, the $19,200 Open Trot, Joseph and Laurie Davino’sTake My Picture ($6, Wolfenden) was a 1:55.4 winner for trainer NikolasDrennan. The win was Wolfenden’s third on the program.


The $100,000 finals and $20,000 consolations for DSBF horses will commence onWednesday October 5.
