Maryland Horse Council to host Evening at the Races

Damascus, MD — The Maryland Horse Council invites equine enthusiasts to an Evening at the Races at Rosecroft Raceway on Thursday (Oct. 20).

The evening includes dinner with the Maryland Horse Council in the dining room overlooking Rosecroft’s five-eighths-mile harness racing oval. Attendees will be served appetizers and enjoy the Finish Line Buffett.

In addition to exciting live harness racing, guests will hear from a trio of speakers from the horse industry. They include Ted Black, a racing analyst and sportswriter who has covered harness racing in the Mid-Atlantic region for 30 years; Corey Callahan, one of the country’s leading drivers and the winner of nearly 5,000 races and $68 million in purses; and Sal Sinatra, president and general manager of the Maryland Jockey Club.

Guests will also be treated to paddock tours and have the opportunity to ride in the starting car.

The event is sponsored by B&D Builders, The Equiery, MidAtlantic Farm Credit, Days End Farm, Agape Pet Services, MARIBIDCO and the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association.
