Ohio-breds in action at Delaware County Fair

Delaware, OH — Uncle Leroy (Mike Wilder) took the lead justbefore the quarter-mile pole and pulled away from his competitors to win thefirst division of the $96,300 (div.) Ohio Breeders Championships for sophomorecolt trotters on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 21) at the Delaware County Fair.

The Neely Dunn gelding was a half-length clear of Deep Question(David Miller) and Chips So Fast (Aaron Merriman) in 1:55.3. Uncle Leroy isowned by Cheryl Vigneron and trained by Charles Vigneron.

The Ohio Sire Stake champion, Wegoferdaprize (Chris Page) took thesecond division in 1:56.2. The Next Triumph (Ronnie Wrenn, Jr.) and MJB GotFaith (Kayne Kauffman) and the eventual winner all battled for the lead in thefinal turn and late breaks in stride by The Next Triumph and MJB Got Faithsealed the victory for the And Away We Go gelding.

The 3-1/2 length score was his eighth win in a row for CurranRacing and trainer Jessica Millner.

The final division was won by Lets Go Bucks (Dan Noble). The partisancrowd cheered the And Away We Go gelding to a 6-1/2 length victory overRoundtown Rocker (Peter Wrenn) and Speedy Translation (Kurt Sugg) in 1:54.4.

The two divisions of the $114,440 (div.) 2-year-old filly trotwent to Let’s Get Started (Dejarmbro-Tori Ann) (Josh Sutton) and Chim Swift (Dejarmbro-ToriAnn) (David Miller).

Let’s Get Stated scored a 1-1/4 length victory over Rose RunSydney (Ryan Holton) in a stakes record 1:57.4.

In the second division, Chim Swift (Triumphant Caviar-Blackrock) overcamethe outside post eight and defeated Renee Lu (Yannick Gingras) in 1:58.
