I tried a $48 whale ticket Saturday night and I had three out of four. Meet record on Pick 4s, standard ticket: 38 plays, five wins for $489.75 total. Bottom line for meet, +$35.30. Whale ticket: six plays, -$218.

Standard ticket: 50-cent play: 47/168/1257/57 = $24
Whale ticket: 50-cent play: none

Analysis:

Race 7: (7) Resolve and (4) Obrigado have both come back strong this year.

Race 8: This is a tricky trot. I’m going to try three, (1) Commentary, (6) Spider Blue Chip and (8) Blue Muse.

Race 9: This is one of several 2-year-old races tonight and these can be difficult. I’m using all four of my listed contenders, 1, 2, 5, 7.

Race 10: (7) Medusa won this race last week and has been on a roll this year. (5) Inittowinafortune left fast and was shuffled, finished gamely behind top pick.
