Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on Feb. 27, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

I had the $40.00 winner on the 9th and the winner of the 10th, but not the last two legs as the Pick-4 paid over $20,000, a meet record, Standard Ticket: 11 plays, 1 win for $100.15 on a $12.00, $0.50 cent ticket, total for meet – $100.75, Whale Ticket: 1 play – $80.00

Standard Ticket: $0.50 play: 469/379/456/25 = $27.00
Whale Ticket: $0.50 cent play: none

Analysis:

Race 9: Good pace here, I’m trying three and I think I have a good chance of getting through the first leg, 4, 6, & 9.

Race 10: Pretty tough race. High Octane N (7) looks ready and is my top pick but I also used Thorn In Your Side (4) and Gold Rocks (9), who are both sharp.

Race 11: Shooter’s Dream (4) is proven at this level. Pansformative (5) has been a bridesmaid but is in good form and has a shot. First Of Itskind s (6) steps up but that race three back shows that he can go fast enough.

Race 12: Wide open race. My top pick is first off the claim by a trainer who has excelled with his claims, so I made Tyron My Gigolo (5) my top pick. I also used City Pie (2), who drops back to best level while moving inside.
