Pandy’s Meadowlands $50,000 Guaranteed Pick-4 with 15% Takeout, Races 7-10, Saturday, February 21, by Bob Pandolfo.

Last night I tried two tickets worth a total of $18.00 after scratches, and I had two out of four.

Meet totals: standard ticket, 17 plays -$208.00, Whale ticket, 8 plays, -$210.50­­

Standard ticket: $0.50 play: none
Whale ticket: $0.50 cent play: 238/2369/48/4­68 = $36.00

Analysis:

Race 7: I’m going to try one Whale Ticket tonight. I like (8) Urgent Action in the 7th and I would single him on a small ticket, but I’m using three horses here.

Race 8: If I were playing a smaller ticket, I would use the 6 and 9, but on my Whale Ticket I’m using all four of my contenders, 2, 3, 6, 9. I think that covers the contenders.

Race 9: (4) OK Gorgeous is kind of obvious after being caught in tight quarters as the favorite in last. (8) Caviart Luca comes off a layoff but qualified sharply and this is a weak field so I think he has a shot. This is not an easy race.

Race 10: This race has a lot of potential speed signed on and could fall apart. My top pick, (8) Nassau County, showed some life in last and may be able to pick up the pieces, but I also used (6) Diamond Said and (4) Outa My Head, two obvious contenders.
