Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on Nov. 21, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.
Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, Nov. 21, 2014
I finished up the Championship meet with a profit of $162.75 on my “Whale Ticket” and a loss of $70.40 on my standard ticket.
Standard ticket: 50 cent play: 2/35/3/3459 = $4
Whale ticket: 50 cent play: 234/235/3/3459 = $18
Analysis:
Race 7: (2) Classic Martine looks tough. On the whale ticket, I also used the other two obvious contenders, (3) Bee A Magician and (4) Handover Belle.
Race 8: I like (3) Danielle Hall for the upset because I think there’s a good chance that (5) Mission Brief breaks, as she has the last two times she raced in a major stakes race. I’ll also use the favorite, and on the whale ticket, I’ll use (2) Wild Honey as well.
Race 9: (3) Shake It Cerry has been dominant and I’ll single her. Trainer Jimmy Takter thinks this is his best shot in the Breeders Crown.
Race 10: This is the most wide open of the four races, but (5) Color’s A Virgin is a personal favorite of mine. She went first over in her last two starts, one into a strong wind, and won easily. But, I’m going to use my other three contenders here as well because the favorite does not appear to be any value in the wagering.
