Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on May 2, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program. Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, May 2, 2014 Saturday night, I played an $8 ticket and a $16 whale ticket, with no luck. Tonight the minimum bet drops to 50 cents, which is great. The 50 cent wager gives me options to be more creative with the tickets. I have one hit so far this year for $1,144.50 on the whale ticket and no winners on the standard tickets. Meet totals: 44 plays, 0 hits -$1,236. Whale ticket: 17 plays, one hit, -$2,938.50. Standard ticket: $1 play: 17/38/2389/10 = $16 Analysis: Race 7: (7) Drift Away and (1) World Cup are closely matched here. Race 8: (3) Marinade Hanover and (8) Mattie Terror Girl both raced sharp last week and both made my list of horses to watch. Race 9: Pretty tough race here. (8) Walltocousins and (9) Bluto are both quite capable here but I’ll also include (2) Jurgen Hanover and (3) Spectator K. Race 10: (10) Leaveumlady is my Best Bet tonight. She left strongly as the favorite last week but was shuffled out of contention.
