Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on March 21, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program. Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 7-10, Friday, March 21, 2014 Things looked promising last night. In the seventh race my Best Bet and single won and paid $8. In the eighth, my top pick KZ Beach Girl won and paid $24.80, a big overlay that I made 5-2 on my line. But I did not have the last two legs so my $18 standard ticket lost and my $72 whale ticket lost. I have one hit so far this year for $1,144.50 on the whale ticket and no winners on the standard tickets. Meet totals: 31 plays, 0 hits, -$1,018. Whale ticket: 13 plays, one hit, -$2,671.50. Standard ticket: $1 play: 6/2567/48/8 = $8 Analysis: Race 7: (6) Windsun Fireball raced gamely from post 10 last week. He is one of many live drives for Jim Morrill, Jr. tonight. Race 8: This race is about as wide open as possible. I’m going to use all four of my listed contenders, and I left out the morning line favorite and second choice. Race 9: (8) Boadicea Hanover is my top pick off the layoff as she comes back at a reduced level. (4) Skyline Road had a tough trip in last. Race 10: (8) Four Starz Speed is my Best Bet tonight. He dropped down last week and made two moves from post 10. Another big shot for Morrill and Burke on tonight’s card.
