Andy Miller passes $100 million in purses

Freehold, NJ — Andy Miller on Monday afternoon became the 16th driver in North American harness racing history to surpass $100 million in career purses when New York Kitty finished second in the fourth race at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

Andy Miller became the 16th driver in North American harness racing history to surpass $100 million in career purses.

Miller, 45, entered the day needing $7,056 to reach $100 million. He finished fourth in the second race with Muscolo and second in the third race with Brdways Perfection before hitting the milestone one race later.

A native of Illinois now living in New Jersey, Miller has won 7,975 races in his career.

This season, Miller ranks ninth among all North American drivers in purses with $7.04 million and 25th in wins with 348.

Last Monday, driver Yannick Gingras topped the $100 million mark, also at Harrah’s Philadelphia.
