On Wednesday (Jan. 23), Northfield Park will be offering a $10,000 guaranteed pool in the Pick-4. The Pick-4 has a reduced takeout rate of just 14 percent and starts in the eighth race.

Analysis:

Race 8: (4) Count The Cost was a winner in his most recent effort and has a shot to repeat tonight. (6) Instant Glide has two wins in a row and looks to be right there again.

Race 9: (2) Put Back draws his best post at this level of competition; looks to have his best finish too. (6) Don’t Sugarcoat It has two wins in a row; has a shot at a threepeat tonight.

Race 10: (1) Master’s Sweetie shows four wins in her last six races; draws the rail and could score again tonight. (3) Tag The Lady looks to be on the lead and could hold on; but could also tire to second.

Race 11: (2) Fiftytwoflat dropped to this class last start and finished second from post seven; could win from the two hole. (3) Riley Bow does not like the turns and has been ending up with bad trips; could hang in there though. (6) Superbe Rulah from the Hamilton barn has been tough to beat and this one could be no exception.
