Ayers Ratliff offers his picks for the $15,000 Pick-4 at Northfield Park on June 19, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Northfield Park Pick-4, Races 8-11, Tuesday, June 19, 2012

On Tuesday (June 19), Northfield Park will be offering a $15,000 guaranteed pool in the Pick-4. The Pick-4 has a reduced takeout rate of just 14 percent (the lowest in harness racing) and starts in the eighth race.

$1 play: 247/12/579/15 = $36

Analysis:

Race 8: (2) Vivianne looks to make the lead and could just hold off the boys tonight. (4) Allcanadian Rebel typically faces better and cannot be counted out against these. (7) Gordie How could be the best in here but has a challenging starting position.

Race 9: (1) The Bomb draws the rail and could not ask for a better group to draw in with. (2) Koko In Flight also starts from a good post position and could receive a favorable trip in here.

Race 10: (5) Can’t Lose may make an easy lead and could be tough to catch. (7) Legacy Chip has been receiving brutal trips and could win in here with a better trip. (9) Jailbird Jesse should get a good trip from the second tier.

Race 11: (1) Timbogo looks to be the easy winner if he minds his manners. (5) Royal Cat. Mullet hands the lines to Noble and looks for results.
