Campbellville, ON — An elite group of 42 horses remain eligible to the 29th edition of the C$1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup, one of harness racing’s most prestigious events.
Sweet Lou, who is the fastest 2-year-old in history with his 1:49 world record performance in last year’s Breeders Crown at Woodbine, remains a top contender for this year’s classic.
The son of Yankee Cruiser recently captured a division of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes in 1:49.4 at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. The bay boasts a career record of 11-2-0 from 13 starts and $739,703 in earnings for trainer Ron Burke.
